Short Stories

lyrics

I am writing a short story
Beginning at the end, this time
I won’t pretend that I’m not in it
Look around and we’re all grinning
(ah ah ah ah…… shed my skin….)

Now that we have cleared the air lets light up a cigarette
Take our drinks outside, we’re still covered in bruises
Hold my life in your hands, I know you won’t abuse it
Abuse the word instead, the fact that we cannot prove it

No matter who you are, no matter what you want
No matter who you love, no matter what you need, and

To begin again take nine steps
This time on a new course, and get
Back on that horse and try again
Sun’s come up, the ship’s not sinking
(ah ah ah ah…… shed my skin….)

Left our baggage behind, it belongs to our mothers and fathers
The distance between us and it grows farther and farther
A certain curtain’s calling, ending my short story
Would we like one more line? I can’t see why we wouldn’t

No matter who, no matter what
No matter who, no matter what

One man he took two days
To take three steps forward
Falling and with five or six
Dollars in his pocket
Seven a.m. he ate his breakfast
Nine………..shed my skin.
Let’s go get a drink and smoke a cigarette.

about

Cinema 6 Melbourne, Australia

Cinema 6 are the refreshingly under-produced pioneers of Melbourne’s raw-wave scene.

They interpret film to create music and sound a bit like a Quidditch final between Buzzcocks
and The Strokes.
